Special Needs Care in Newmarket

| I am a university graduate, and I am currently working shift work at a group home for children with complex special needs. in 2014, I had the opportunity to be an Au pair in Australia which was a fantastic experience. I have also worked at a camp for children with complex neurological disorders, and as a live in nanny in Calgary. I have extensive experience working with children of all age groups, due to a variety of volunteer positions (with Children's Aid Society, and Forensic Adolescent Program while I was living in Calgary), and I have many years of babysitting and full time care giving. I do have two paraplegic cats, one of which used to wear diapers, so I've got diaper changing down to a science now. ;) Please note that although it says I have open availability, it is because my shifts change week to week so I don't always have the same days off. Unfortunately because of this, before and/or after school care is not a good fit for me at the moment. I am more so interested in occasional babysitting when my schedule allows it.

| I have many years experience caring for young children. My previous position I worked as a PSW (personal support worker) for a little boy who was special needs. I helped with everyday care such as bathing, feeding and playing. I also administered appropriate medications and inhalations. I also have experience working at a Montessori and a daycare. | I did my psw placement at a long term care centre in Toronto for 6 weeks and I did also 4 weeks at a public school in Toronto as well. In both places I had full responsibilities with elderly and young children as young as 6 years old. My duties for the elderly were : Bathing Feeding Transferring Reposition Dressing keep them company. Communicating with them. Supervising them. Comforting them.

| My first experience was starting a art program in gr 6 for students with special needs , I also started babysitting kids with ADD ADHD autism for 5 years and in high school I did a co-op in a class room for student with both phyical and developmental disaibilites. I my self have first hand experience living with a disability I was in a wheelchair for 12 years over the past few years I've been re-gained the ability to walk and I am eager to give back
