I am a professional school educator and caregiver in the Washington, DC metro area. If you are in need of a responsible, reliable pet sitter who is in the area, please contact me!
I have always loved animals and have a good deal of experience with them. Growing up, my family had multiple cats (9 at one point), a dog, guineapig, fish, frogs and a turtle. Because of this, I am very comfortable with the work that is required to fully care for an animal like feeding, cleaning, exercising and loving! I am professional, attentive and clean.
As many little kids do, I dream for many years of becoming a veterinarian. While in high school, I volunteered every weekend for 3 years at a vet hospital and absolutely loved it. We worked with all kinds of animals with all kinds of conditions. Throughout my time at the hospital, I was able to administer medications, watch surgeries, and even assisted with removing porcupine quills from a golden retriever's mouth and tongue! Seeing the varying conditions that animals came into the hospital with, and watching how caring and attentive the vets and technicians were, really taught me how to be receptive to an animal's individual signals and needs. Being there made me fall in love with animals even more than I already did as a younger girl.
Within the area, I have taken care of cats and dogs for several people. I have also taken care of and boarded my in-laws 3 large dogs (Golden Retrievers and a bulldog). The dogs love visiting here because they get a lot of attention, love and exercise and we live right next door to a park. My parents also had an English Bulldog for 13 years (who has since passed). When I visited home, she was always by my side, both in and outside the house. I also saw and understand first hand how her needs changed as she aged.
I am interested in helping as a pet sitter or a boarder for animals in the area. I have a yard and live directly next to a trail and a park in Arlington.
