About Yolanda

We've loved working with Yolanda for the past half of a year. However both I and one of the parents in our sharecare partner family have made career changes this fall that resulted in neither family needing full-time childcare for the next 6+ months, so we're now working with Yolanda to find her next amazing pair of families. It's hard to say goodbye! Yolanda seems to have boundless energy, patience and creativity with the girls. Our daughter and her share care buddy are both energetic, running ahead on their physical milestones, and very curious and exploratory. She's done a fabulous job keeping them growing, helping setup child-proof spaces and always having activities for our daughter who gets bored easily in the afternoons without constant input of new games to engage with. Yolanda has done a great job balancing one child who tends to easily follow schedules with our daughter who likes to set her own timings during the day and won't take a nap or bottle a moment before she's ready. Our daughter also solely contact naps at home, but Yolanda has created a rhythm that gets her smoothly into a crib nap when they're together - including having the patience to rock her for a while. She takes the girls to the park every day, and has a group of fellow nannies who join at the same time so the girls have consistent social interactions and an environment with many adult eyes watching out. 8mo olds aren't great at recognizing people, but our daughter knows Yolanda's name and gets _so_ excited and bounces up and down when I say we'll be going to see her. We dearly wish we could continue having Yolanda as a daily part of our daughter's life, and definitely will be reaching out to her for babysitting and to be a guest at our daughter's birthday parties. Yolanda speaks fluent Spanish, and primarily interacts with the girls in it. She speaks some English and we've used that for our conversations, plus my very rudimentary Spanish and augmented it with Google Translate. Yolanda was open to extended days or night/weekend babysitting when you need additional coverage, which our share care family has really appreciated (our family hasn't needed a non-family babysitter yet, but plan to call Yolanda when we do in the next few months).
