About Yana

I began working in childcare about 10 years ago. I worked as a teachers assistant at a bilingual German/English preschool and also worked at various gymnastics centers teaching children (ages 4-10) gymnastics and dance skills. Recently, I have been a full-time nanny for a few families in the Portland area. While working these jobs I made sure the children had fun and stayed engaged, while also ensuring their safety. I use projects, nature walks and field trips to help them explore the world and build self confidence and independence. I fostered creativity and curiosity through art, movement, play, cooking/baking, and music. I ordered groceries, did meal prep for the week, cleaned the home as needed, did the children's laundry, and helped run errands for the family. I also drove the children to and from school and help them with their after school zoom classes. I am in support of gentle parenting methods and when I am with the children I use a natural and logical consequences method.
