About Whitley

I was a Nanny, then a pre school teacher, then moved into the world of public education after college. I have a bachelors and a masters degree both in education, one in special education K-12. Children are my passion and I would not choose to do anything else. In my nine plus years as a teacher in the K-12 school system, I have created an environment of equality, acceptance, understanding, compassion, and community in each and every classroom. I believe that not one child learns the same as another child. I have a deep and personal understanding of challenged learning. As a dyslexic, I have had to develop and hone skills that others have not even thought about using. I am able to facilitate learning in ways that address all learners. Also, being raised as a military child enabled me to think critically, develop collaborative relationships easily, work in diverse environments and with diverse cultures.
