I have 8 years of experience in social work working with the developmentally disabled in both group home settings to on-the-job locations. My clients ranged from high functioning adults to physically challenged; paraplegic, nonverbal, etc. Furthermore, I have extensive experience working with children who require the ABA Module. Your position requires patience, creativity, strong interpersonal and organizational skills combined with a keen ability to multitask a variety of challenges and responsibilities. I am passionate about working with children of all degrees of needs and find helping children flourish developmentally to living a peaceful and happy life brings me great joy. My most recent work was with a child who has special needs. I was a childcare specialist/nanny. I began when they were ages 4 and 6, and stayed for 3 and years. The older of the two has Asperger's syndrome, is epileptic, manic-depressive, and diabetic. I was required to follow an Applied Behavioral Analysis Module specific to the one child's needs. I was responsible for administering meds. I created numerous Tactile Specific/Developmental Arts projects that addressed the needs of both children and specific to the child. I attended a seminar in Love and Logic to help support parent's approach with addressing their children's developmental issues; socially, physically, emotionally, spiritually, and intellectually.

Wessie looked after our 2 young girls for almost 2 1/2 years, and was virtually a part of our family. During that time she developed a deep and nurturing relationship with both girls, providing careful attention to their physical, emotional and mental well being through various developmental stages. She was also incredibly flexible and attentive to the family's needs during covid, stepping up to help with online schooling and myriad other needs that emerged through the pandemic. We feel truly blessed to have had Wessie in our lives, and would've kept her on had we not moved out of state. Our girls talk about Wessie nearly every day and cherish their time with her. She's one in a million! Also great with pets :).
