About Wendy

I'd describe my personality as caring, creative, and results-oriented. I like tutoring because I enjoy nothing more than helping students reach their potential and gain self confidence. A one-on-one, safe environment is crucial for students who are struggling or falling behind. Learning is possible under these conditions, especially when coupled with a growth mindset. I'm looking for a job where I can assist students in grades K through 12 in English/Language Arts. In addition to providing support to those performing below grade level, I offer enrichment classes for those students who are not being challenged at school. I started tutoring one year ago, after retiring from my job as an English and journalism classroom teacher for 20 work. One thing you should know about me is that my degree is in Special Education and I have worked with students with learning differences like autism and ADHD. My skills include writing instruction, reading comprehension, and grammar.
