I first started working 20 years ago with a woman with a spinal injury and have since had many different experiences, from all ages and with people facing a variety of different challenges. I find this work to be rewarding and meaningful, adapting to the needs of the person. Sometimes, I am their hands when they can't reach, their companion or a personal assistant to drive them to appointments. I read the room and try to do what's been asked, whilst giving the person as much autonomy as they want or need.
