Have worked with 2 families in the last 4 years. Was with an elderly gentlemen on a 24hr 4 day week for 2 plus yrs. He was diagnosed Alzheimer and his family lived out of state. I was responsible for his daily care including personal hygiene, diet, medication, companionship, socializing, doctor appts, light housekeeping etc. A car was provided for his transportation. Wonderful man, great experience. The second family was an elderly couple diagnosed with Alzheimer and dementia. Many of the same duties were required but the care was daily not overnight . Their family lived nearby and we are still in touch although the couple has now gone to live in a full care facility.
