About Virginia

I have 16 cousins so my experience with children is advanced to say the least. I have been babysitting since I was 12 and was certified at a medical center. I have done everything from feeding bottles, to changing diapers, etc. I love children with a passion. I have gone up north every summer since I was 13 and started nursing my little cousin as a newborn. I would get up in the middle of the night to feed him, change him, etc. I also have a little cousin with cerebral palsy that I watch when I go up north for the summer. I've fed her through her feeding tube, changed her diapers, etc. I have cousins that range from newborns to their young teen years. Nothing brings me more joy than caring for children. I know that may sound cliche and something expected to see on all applications but it is the truth in my case. I am not attending school at the moment, but I know when I go back I most definitely want to major in a field involving children. There's something about children that intrigues me and brings me more joy than anything else can. It could be because of their curiosity, imagination, innocence, and their never-ending cute and funny tendencies. I have two siblings so once I started babysitting when I got older I could relate to the annoyances and tension between one another, which also helped because I was always the problem solver. I danced for 10 years and was always involved in school activities and on many different teams so running around is no problem for me. Whether it's running from one place to another, helping out with homework, finding a fair solution, implementing good behavior, setting good examples, or whatever is needed to be done, I've had plenty of experience with all of it, which is why I think I could be a great fit for any family who is in need of a caregiver. :)
