I'm looking for a job that will provide me the opportunity to give care and compassion that benefits the family as whole as well as challenge me to continue my growth. Both as an individual and as CNA. I started caring for seniors when I realized I was able to create a positive impact on people's lives while doing something I'm passionate about! In my spare time, I LOVE to crochet! It's a huge passion of mine that I fill almost all of my spare time with. One thing you should know about me is that I'm dedicated to creating a safe and comfortable environment. My top three skills that I find are invaluable include communication, dementia/Alzheimer care, and adaptability. Communication is pivotal to creating trust between individuals and working relationships and I pride myself on being an effective communicator.

Vin is a superb human being. I met her first at Sheldon Park in Eugene, OR. It was always fun to hang out with my mom, who was wheelchair bound, when Vin was around. Though Sheldon Park had many caregivers who were kind and caring, she stood out. She shared jokes with the residents at the same time she took exceptional care of them. I know because I was around a lot. We brought my mom home to my house when it was clear she needed more support and was on hospice. it was time for family to be there full time for her. i searched out Vin to help at our house. As a matter of fact she came to help us with mom on her first night at my house. When it was time for my mom to go to bed for the evening I panicked for a moment, realizing I had done everything but get a checklist for the way she preferred to get ready for bed. Though Vin had to work the next morning at 5:00 a.m. she stayed for an extra hour. She knew my mom’s routine, and more important, she was familiar with what she liked to do and how she liked to do it. Vin came to help us three times a week and it was a huge relief having her here. She understood what my mom needed physically (she was starting to have a lot of pain in her legs). She also understood what mom needed emotionally. She figured out, as my mom came closer to passing, that she enjoyed watching baby animal videos, and that even though my mom couldn’t always articulate what she wanted toward the end, it was important to ask questions in more than one way, more than one time, loudly, and to try different positions to help with comfort. She was attentive and compassionate to the end. I missed her verve and incredibly positive energy when my mom passed. I still miss her. Vin is fun and patient and compassionate. She is a rare gem.
