About Victoria

During the school year, I work as the legal guardian in a female residence hall for gifted boarding school students grades 10-12. For the past few summers, I have worked for DUKE TIP's ADVANCE Program for Young Scholars at Northwestern State University as a teaching assistant. Independent of these academic programs, I provided math tutoring lessons for two elementary school students and four middle school students. I also tutored high school students in Algebra, Chemistry, Physics, and Spanish. I met with each student a few times a week and tailored each lesson to address their individual strengths and weaknesses. I tutored each student with patience and consistency, while constantly thinking of new ways to capture their attention. I was able to succeed in raising their grades 1-2 letters in their individual classes, while keeping students interested in the material during the lesson.
