I am loyal, compassionate, and professional, and I want to help give a voice to those who are often forgotten. It is rewarding for me to be able to aid seniors in need through companionship and care. I specialize in working with seniors with Alzheimer's and Dementia. I understand the characteristics and needs of adults with Dementia/Alzheimer's, providing care and demonstrating a high level of respect and patience. I'm looking for a job that allows me to give back. I want to build relationships with families by providing the help they need. I started caring for seniors 17 years ago when I took in my mother. I went back to school in 2013 to gain training and education in human services. I then became a live-in caregiver for an elderly woman for over 4 years. My skills include working with seniors and providing companionship, reliability, and effective communication. I am adept in meal preparation, bathing, dressing, transportation, medication admittance, and more.

Vicki provided part-time caregiving for my mother from October 2022 to September 2023, right up until we moved my mother into a memory care facility. My mother is 90 years old and has Alzheimer’s. Vicki understood the characteristics and needs of adults with dementia, providing care and demonstrating a high level of respect and patience. She became my mother’s friend, not just her caregiver. Vicki was extremely reliable and had a very consistent work schedule. She drove my mother to appointments, took her grocery shopping, took her out to lunch, and participated in local community events. My mother enjoyed her company and always expressed delight at their adventures. Most important of all, we always knew my mother was in good hands when Vicki was with her. She responded to my mother’s needs, which could vary considerably each day. When my mother was worried or upset, Vicki could often change her mood for the better, sometimes just by sitting and talking with her, and at other times by getting her dressed and out of the house. I am happy to recommend Vicki as a reliable companion and caregiver.
