I have experience helping children develop gross and fine motor skills through therapeutic neurodevelopmental, rhythmic, and reflexive movement patterns. I like to use a DIR/Floortime model to promote the development of symbolic thinking and affective interactions. I also enjoy working on social-emotional development and teaching children how to identify their emotions to improve self-regulation. I also have experience with children with food aversion/picky eating challenges. Prior to being a COTA, I had years of experience working in the childhood development field as a teacher assistant, handwriting tutor, nanny to twins, and one-on-one classroom support for children with special needs. Vian was our nanny during the pandemic and simultaneously managed preschool learning for our youngest child and virtual distanced learning for our older one. She was able to keep our kids engaged daily and has a natural way with children. In addition to her experience working with kids, she was always punctual and pleasant to work with.
