About Vera

I'm a creative, patient, and flexible caregiver with conventional and special-needs experience (ASD verbal and nonverbal; ADHD). I'm currently studying biology at UCLA and plan to earn my teaching certification to teach elementary science. Kids have such incredible brains, and I love watching them learn! I follow each family's preferred communication style, whether that's live updates, a written note, or a quick debrief before/after. While I'm not a strict disciplinarian, I enforce household rules through gentle redirection and positive reinforcement, focusing on teaching appropriate behavior rather than just punishment. My approach to play is hands-on and creative- I love incorporating crafts, puzzles, and games, as well as physical activities like dance parties or tag! I play guitar, crochet, and make jewelry, so I love bringing art into activities to encourage creativity and self-expression. I've also tutored math and science for 5 years- I'm a capable and enthusiastic teacher!
