I have six years experience caring for those with special needs. I've cared for two Autistic children and one blind child. Most of my experience is with those wheelchair bound. I also have experience operating hoyer lifts. I have cared for five people who were confined to a wheelchair in their homes. Two were mentally handicapped and also had a feeding tube. I also have worked for two large assisted living facilities. Though I prefer one on one or small group homes because of the close friendships that develop between the caregiver and the one receiving the care. As a caregiver/med aid I've been responsible for medication delivery, bathing, transferring, checking blood sugar levels, checking blood pressures cooking meals, shopping, feeding, incontinent care, cleaning and laundry. As your overnight caregiver I'll clean and do your laundry so that when you wake up It's to breakfast, coffee/tea, and a clean home.
