About Vanessa

Hi there! My name is Vanessa, and I'm a first-year Business major at California State University, Long Beach (CSULB). In my free time, I enjoy painting, exploring new restaurants, or relaxing on the beach with a good book. I've gained valuable experience in childcare over the years, starting with babysitting for my family when I was 16. For the past year, I've been working at the Boys and Girls Club of Garden Grove, an after-school program where I'm responsible for a group of around 20 kids, ranging from 1st to 6th grade. My duties involve guiding them through their homework assignments, helping them solve problems, and fostering a positive environment for learning and fun. I also organize special activities that engage the children in various subjects, such as art, math, and science, ensuring that learning is both enjoyable and meaningful. I take pride in creating a supportive and enriching atmosphere for the kids, and it's been a rewarding experience.
