My first experience working for an elderly person was almost 20 years ago. I was a live-in assistant to a terminally ill elderly lady. My other responsibilities were to send 2 children to school, and meet them. A 2-year-old stayed at home with me. I also had to keep the house clean, and cook dinners. After that job, I went to cosmetology school, and after that I went to study colon hydro-therapy. I am a licensed cosmetologist and Colon hydro-therapist with 13 years of experience. Many of my colon-hydrotherapy clients are seniors. For over 5 years, I have been caring for my 83-year-old mother. I am a very good cook, and able to learn new recipes very quickly. The most important thing for a senior, in my opinion, is attention and socialization, which I can provide. I can be a companion to movies, doctors, theaters, etc. I want to be able to work close to home. That way, I can quickly arrive if needs arise. I am available for a full-time or part-time but without living in.
