After I had my children, I knew I needed to be with them until they were older and didn't want me to smother them anymore. I have worked with all sorts of child populations-from babysitting throughout college, being the Medical Director working with the MR/DD population, to being the staff nurse and nurse practitioner in child/adolescent psychiatric inpatient populations. With all this experience, plus being a mom of multiples, I feel very confident in various populations. I believe in developing a rapport with children by meeting them on their level, using language they can understand, and most of all by listening first and being proactive.
