About Valerie

Hello! I'm an experienced sitter and former music educator, and I'd love to be a part of your village of support for your kids! I started babysitting over 25 years ago and have been working professional with kids of all ages for 20 years, including a degree in music education, training in early childhood music education, and 6 years running a small music school teaching mommy and me music classes and group and private music lessons for ages 4 and up. I love connecting with kids of all ages, and especially enjoy working with infants and toddlers. I like doing crafts, imaginative play, games, reading stories, and exploring the world through the eyes of the kids in my care. My interaction style with kids has been informed by books such as "How to Talk So Kids Will Listen" and "Good Inside" by Dr. Becky. I'm available primarily for things like date nights and one-off events, but would be open to a short-to-medium term recurring part-time care position as well.
