About Valerie

Hi! My name is Valerie and I am an Engineering student at the University of Michigan. I have experience as a robotics teacher for elementary students as well as several years of one-on-one tutoring. While I tutor primarily in math, I also have experience using robotics as a tool to teach other subjects in order to engage students who love STEM from an early age without letting them fall behind in reading or grammar. Having been a student during the pandemic and a tutor through all stages of reopening, I understand how difficult it can be to learn online, so I make it a priority to be animated and engaging, going back to basics if necessary, and leave my students more comfortable to tackle problems on their own by the end of a session.
