About Valerie

I am a young woman who has been taking care of seniors for the last four years. My first client needed companionship and help with medication, I prepared her meals and helped her with her showers. It was an interesting experience because it taught me how much care elders needed for their health to improve. My next job was also interesting because the lady I cared for needed companionship, she also needed help with her medication because she had dementia, I learned to be patient with her, and helped her remember stuff, I also helped her take showers, helped her get dressed cooked for her, took walks with her, we bonded and I realized how much she depended on me to get through the day and have a smile on her face, we watched TV together and she would tell me her childhood stories. That experience made me realize I wanted to continue working with elders.
