About Valerie

I worked for 2 years as a substitute teacher in District 81 and for over 10 years as a college English and ESL instructor at Spokane Community College, Institute of Extended Learning, and Whitworth University. I have also worked independently as a tutor. I've taught kindergartners to read, Asperger students to write, and foreign students to speak English clearly. At Spokane Community College I taught many writing classes and classes in test preparation. I have very effective tools to raise test scores. Although writing and language are my specialties, I'm qualified to teach many subjects through 8th grade including basic math, science, computer skills, and advanced history. My personal hobbies included gardening, wildcrafting, mushroom picking, cooking, and painting.
