About Tyra

I'm currently a part time employee at the YMCA in their child watch department and have been there since October 2023. My job is to make sure the kids engage in proactive fun in a safe environment with ages 8 weeks - 12 years. I enthusiastically play with the children whether it's coloring, trains, ball toss, and more! My other tasks include diaper changing, feeding, light bathroom assistance, and cleaning up the play room. I started working with children in 2014 by volunteering my Sunday mornings caring for 8 week - 5-year-olds. I organized structured lesson plans and snack times to help keep the kids on task and entertained. During the summer I'm a music mentor for ages 10-17-year-olds for a week. I help keep them on task while performing group activities.
