My husband and I have three children (20, 18, 16). We moved from Canada in 2009. I worked as a teacher for 2 years before I became a stay at home mom. Once my children were of school age I started as a substitute teacher. I was able to have the best of both worlds. I was able to be available for when my family needed me and get back into a profession I loved. I was lucky enough to be at home with my own children for the better part of their childhood. Now that they are older I would like to offer other children the same opportunity to have a single caregiver for growth and nurturing, versus a group of individuals, however competent.
