She inquired about the job and the succeeding interview went great. Experience for the job - check Communication skills - check Motivation, Energy - check We discussed the job description, pay, and training. We scheduled to start with a training day. Last text received was, "Looking forward to meeting you as well!" -- which I hearted. Training Day, January 2025 - I send her a text in the morning to confirm that she was coming. *Crickets* One hour before Training was scheduled - I go to care.com to message her to see if she got my text. I find out I am not able to message her because she blocked me. Blocked me? For what? For interviewing her? For offering her a job? For planning to train her? That seems like an unnecessarily drastic technologically-aided ending to our story here, when she could have used WORDS. Something as simple as sending me a text with, "I'm sorry, I've decided I'm no longer interested in the position," would have been a much better ending to this (now sad) story.
