Hi! I'm a retired 6-12 grade English and language arts teacher. After my retirement, I went to work for my district in two different schools. The first was Ortiz Middle School where I was an hourly lecturer. The second was at Cesar Chavez HS where I taught most of my career. There I participated as a tutor in a grant-funded program to get students ready to pass the STAAR test. The students had been unsuccessful in the past, and we had to work on motivating them and making them feel confident as they approach the test. I enjoyed this experience, and the kids did very well with one-on-one and small group help.
