I have taken care of many people over the past 20 years. With all types of ailments. Cancer, dimentia, parkinson's, mental illness, diabetes etc... I worked at a psychiatric personal care home where I took care of 14 people for 4 years. My duties were meal prep, making sure they all took their meds, cleaning, laundry. Enforcing personal hygiene. Keeping track of Dr. appointments, knowing where they all were at all times and continuously making sure they were safe. Conversation about how their day went and how they feel. It was like a big family. I had a few terminally ill, bedridden hospice patients. I would do my very best to provide comfort for them. I would sit and talk to them, read to them or just hold their hand and be with them so they weren't afraid. Those are just a couple of examples of my experience.
