I have been getting paid in the field of working with kids with special needs for the past two years but I have six years of experience from volunteering with nonprofits like Friendship Foundation. My brother is seven years younger than me and was diagnosed with ASD when he was five. Being involved in my brother's therapies made it very easy for me to get into working in ABA when I made that transition career-wise. While working in ABA, however, I saw a need for advocacy not only for the kids with special needs but for their education and families as well. My goal is to become a lawyer to be able to legally represent these children and their family to have access in school and in the world to support them in growing and becoming the amazing people they have the potential to be. I was also a licensed Emergency Medical Technician before going into this field which means I am certified for first aid, CPR and much more as far as basic life support.
