About Tia

I am a certified teacher with 16 years of experience teaching K-5th grade. I got my bachelor's degree in Elementary Education with an emphasis in science and my Masters degree in multicultural/bilingual education from NAU. I have an early childhood education endorsement as well as a structured English immersion endorsement. I have done private tutoring in all elementary subject areas as well as reading and writing tutoring up to the college level. I currently teach in the evenings at MCC and have a cookie decorating side business. I love elementary aged kiddos and miss teaching in that environment! I love having the opportunity to tutor and help kids gain confidence and growth in their academic abilities. I started tutoring elementary aged kids in my early teaching career. Since then, I have tutored mostly high school students and adults in reading and writing. Now that I am teaching adults full time, I am excited to work with elementary aged kids again in a tutoring environment.
