I have experience with both special needs children and typically developing kids. I spent two summers in college teaching a kids climbing camp for Touchstone. As a camp councilor, I taught up to 20 children how to climb as well as climbing safety. My experience with special needs children has been life long. My 18-year-old brother has a genetic disorder called tuberous sclerosis which causes seizures and developmental disability. His mental abilities are between a three and 5-year-old. I love my brother and adore the unique way he interacts with the world. Since high school I have helped my parents by caring for him when they go out. I have also volunteered in a special needs elementary school classroom for an activity credit in high school. I was able to bond with many of the students which was very rewarding.

Thalia provided excellent care to my daughter will special needs. She is an outstanding care provider. She is dependable, reliable, trustworthy, an excellent communicator and listener, a quick learner, intelligent, resourceful, funny, flexible, empathetic, patient, has a positive attitude and a huge heart. She is very crafty, artistic, enjoys DIY projects, cooking, improvising, taking walks, and she even got my daughter to brush her teeth. She was wonderful with my daughter over the months’ time she was in our area for the holidays. My daughter looked forward to the days she was coming, and we all dearly miss her.
