Hello families! If your child needs help with reading development then I'm your girl! I am a certified Reading Specialist with 15 years of experience teaching children to love reading in Kindergarten-5th grade, and have worked at the McGuffey Reading Center at UVA. I have also completed the LETRS certification which qualifies me to specifically target the foundational skills of reading. I can provide tutoring that will strengthen your child's phonics, vocabulary, writing, and comprehension skills in a fun and hands-on way! We'll read, laugh and play together. Some favorite lessons of past students include author studies, skits, and graphic novel book clubs. When your child gets a taste of success they will love reading. Since I am certified to teach grades PK-5, I am also available to help with math, science, history, and other content areas. General homework help is also available. I am able to meet at my in-home classroom, or conduct lessons virtually.
