I cared for my grandmother who had dementia and lived with us for 8 years. I personally know how caring for the elderly can impact family relationships. All my expertise has come directly from working hands-on with the elderly. I am comfortable with most medical situations and ADL's with women. As for men, I am comfortable doing companion care, meals, meds. I'm familiar with medical conditions such as CHF, diabetes, arthritis, Parkinsons, and dementia. I can dispense medication, give injections and use durable medical equipment such as oxygen (concentrators/portables), CPAP, nebulizer, walkers and wheelchairs. I love to interact with your loved one by chatting, playing games, puzzles, crocheting, embrodiery, arts/crafts or anything they are interested in. I can also take your loved one to appointments/daily outings of their choosing.

She worked for our family for just under a year and did an amazing job. She assisted us in acclimating my mother ( who has mild memory loss ) with her new home/routine, physical limitations, and dietary restrictions - just months after the death of my father. She educated us, by example - so we are now able to face each new day because of the knowledge she passed on. She will always be someone I go to for advice. She also owns It Takes a Village Llc where she connects expert caregivers like herself with families like ours. She's been a real blessing to our family.
