About Tara

I've been caring for children for 20 years! I started out babysitting when I was about 12 years-old. I was a summer nanny for a family with three girls (including two twins) for 5+ years. I also cared for three small boys who were close in age. My sister is much older than me and I spent a lot of time caring for my nieces in my teenage years. I love children of all ages! I've been in Raleigh for about five years now. I just ended a 11 year career in the news industry. Most recently I worked 5 years at Spectrum News as an anchor. My fiancé and I are getting married October 3rd and I'm looking to do some childcare until then. My work history is mainly in the communications field. I taught TV Production to high school and middle school students for a year as well. I also taught karate/self defense to children as a teen instructor. In addition to caring for children, I love pets, I love to clean and I can cook as needed.

Tara is a breath of fresh air walking through the door! I have no worries when I leave for work super early. She's reliably shown up at 6:15am and gotten them up, ready and dropped off to school on time. She is great with my 4 and 6 year old children... even texts me with cute pics and little things they say. As a bonus, she is very helpful with tidying! She is extremely responsible, energetic and positive. She'll write details down when I've asked certain things like "make sure they take this to school," or checking if someone needs a new band aid. :) She takes even little things I mention, to heart. My son's preschool never had complaints of previous morning help... but they did make a special note to let me know how "Tara's drop offs are very good!" I feel lucky to have found her to cover sporadic weekday mornings, and would recommend her without reservation.
