Taquila was hired as a caregiver for my mom. I conducted a phone interview and spoke with 2 references before hiring her. All responses turned out to be the complete opposite of what I experienced. On her first day, she asked me an hour before she was supposed to arrive if she could bring 2 kids with her that she also had to watch. I said just start tomorrow. On her actual first day, I showed her around, introduced her to my mom and lead her through a typical day. I went in the other room for 20 minutes and in that time, she left without word. She didn't tell my mom she was leaving or come tell me she was leaving. This was a huge safety concern as she left my mom alone and left the front door unlocked. She was only at the house for an hour before abandoning ship. She said she had reliable transportation but that day she had been dropped off and picked up by a friend.
