I am a certified creative expressive arts therapist. I love working with kids provide fertile soil for their imaginations to take root and blossom. I have conducted workshops where children do everything from create their own poems from found language, to building puppets of themselves, to helping a little boy write a song about a ladybug he'd thrown from the perspective of the ladybug in order to open the doors for empathy to take place. Let's make some magic together :) I am Whimsical, colorful, and gregarious I started working with kids in my community engagement project Therapeutic Art Society. One thing you should know about me is I have arthritis, so my mobility is limited. I can do stairs, but it's difficult. I am not capable of wrangling children by physical force, but I am quite persuasive and grounding in my presence.

To Whom It May Concern: I am recommending Tallulah for a position at your organization and/or family. I was the Coordinator of the Recreation Program at Astor Services in Rhinebeck, New York, which provided a holistic range of therapeutic activities for children with emotional and behavioral issues. In collaboration with the Bard Therapeutic Arts Society, I arranged for Bard students to visit Astor on a regular basis and volunteer with the children in our residential program, creating and implementing their own unique, creative workshops for the children. Tallulah was the leader of this group and was instrumental in organizing the Bard volunteers to help with the workshops, creating projects for the children, sourcing materials, and leading activities. Tallulah’s eagerness to help and her highly imaginative and thoughtful ideas were a great asset to our program. Not only was she reliable, respectful, and serious about the work, her engaging personality and ability to meet the children at their level was very beneficial in working with this unique population. She demonstrated great teaching and listening skills, which helped the children learn and express themselves through meaningful activities that integrated art, mindfulness, music, and movement. As Tallulah helped to lead the workshops, demonstrating activities for the group and also giving each child individual attention, she made them feel comfortable and showed great sensitivity and compassion, even when faced with challenging behaviors and situations. Tallulah’s enthusiasm, knowledge, and willingness to learn, combined with her strong work ethic, give me complete confidence that she will be an asset to any organization she works for, and many will benefit from her experience and empathetic nature. -Jennifer
