About Sydney

Hello, my name is Sydney! I am a graduate student at Virginia Commonwealth University, pursuing a doctoral degree in Child Clinical Psychology. I have over 10 years of experience working with children in various roles, including as a camp counselor, babysitter, mentor, teacher, and tutor. Before graduate school, I taught elementary and middle school English Language Arts in Detroit, Michigan, after graduating from Spelman College in 2020. I am passionate about creating a warm, safe, and engaging environment where children can thrive. My approach is tailored to each child's unique needs and interests, whether I'm supporting academic growth through tutoring or ensuring they feel cared for and entertained as a babysitter. I strive to make learning enjoyable and relatable, helping children build confidence and achieve their fullest potential.
