About Sydney

Hello, My name is Sydney and I am an elementary teacher and nanny who has over 15 years of experience working with children in a variety of capacities: infant and toddler nanny, children's ESL/EFL instructor, children's dance teacher, and elementary educator. In the fall, I will begin pursuing an MA in Education with an emphasis in Early Childhood Education. My approach in working with children is strongly influenced by my background in movement, theater, music, and English Language Development, and addresses the needs of the whole child: social-emotional; intellectual; and physiological. Daily activities might include developmentally appropriate tasks to promote 21st century skills such as interactive math activities to strengthen numeracy awareness and fact fluency, small group work using sentence frames to address speaking and listening standards, and plenty of brain brakes to keep the pace lively and engaging. .
