I started caring for people with special needs when I joined Best Buddies in middle school. In high school, I served as president of Best Buddies for 3 years and spent much of my free time in our SPED classrooms, hanging out outside of school, or attending extracurriculars with my Best Buddies peers. I have some training in ABA therapy, but ultimately decided that ABA was not right for me. I'm currently a freshman at UT majoring in Special Education and am a member of a club which promotes inclusion. In my spare time, I like to read, practice yoga, and listen to music. I find that many of my favorite hobbies can also be enjoyed by children. I love to read to kids, do some modified yoga, and listen to their favorite songs together. I also love movies! At home and with friends, movies are one of my top activity choices. My skills include providing safe autonomy, leading redirection, and helping with emotional regulation. Patience is my number one priority, which comes easily to me.
