For many months I cared for a 5-year-old boy who had Cerebral Palsy and Autism until insurance mandated that for the mother to receive reimbursement, she had to hire sitters through them. Frankly, it broke my heart! I have lot of babysitting experience, as well as experience in caring for seniors with special needs/challenges. I think it all boils down to respect, understanding and patience. Respect the person who is receiving your care, treat them with dignity, and go the extra mile to make them happy! Regarding their parents, I will respect their wishes, since they know what their child needs better than anyone! I have fantastic reviews on this site for child care, and I know I can bring the same happiness to families in more difficult situations. I prefer to stay within 15 miles. I am 63 and have no physical limitations. I am only available on an occasional basis. Thanks!!
