About Susanna

My daughter and I spent the last 5 years living in a gated community of mostly retirees in the 70 to 90-year-old age range. I loved going on walks with my neighbors and counted it a privilege to regularly hear their myriad words of wisdom. I am a seasoned teacher and youth counselor, with degrees from Harvard, UCLA and Cal. I am skilled at communicating, innovating activities, and pivoting for the unexpected. I am experienced in managing medication and in physical care. My fitness level is high and I enjoy doing work that requires strength and endurance. In all of my work, I seek to hold love, curiosity and integrity -- the keys to all effective human-centered work -- at the center. Curiosity is being genuinely interested in others -- who they are, what they think, feel, fear and dream. I am confident such an approach to serving elders in my community will allow for me to be effective.
