Our recent interaction with Susan, a nanny candidate via Care.com, revealed concerning behavior. Despite initially agreeing to our budget of $18 through care.com, Susan later insisted on $20, then proposed an off-the-books payment scheme citing tax concerns. This breach of trust, coupled with her dismissive attitude when confronted, prompted us to terminate the arrangement and request the return of provided items. Susan's disregard for our agreed terms and her suggestion of under-the-table payment not only raise legal and ethical concerns but also reflect poorly on her professionalism. Parents must remain vigilant in vetting childcare providers to ensure integrity and adherence to legal standards, as well as respectful conduct towards clients.
