All through college I worked as a nursing assistant to support myself and pay for my education so that I didn't accumulate student debt, and although it took me a bit longer to complete my education, it taught me some valuable lessons. I spent the next 50 years as an educator myself, along the way running a café where I did all the cooking, and also opening a small bed and breakfast in my home. I continue to tutor a few private students as it seems the caring professions are what I am designed for. I am a senior myself now, although I am in excellent health, and feel confident I can really relate to the issues of an older person as they face the issues of aging, perhaps a bit better than a young person who might not have the patience or familiarity with the momentary struggles we deal with.
