My background includes the following: * Combining play and interactive activities to help children to develop their language and vocabulary. * Planning and putting together a variety of individual and group activities, including role play, movement, age-appropriate games as well as arts and crafts and activities involving nature. * Providing children with a safe and positive learning environment both inside and outside of the classroom. * Preparing learning materials that are inspiring and age-appropriate. * Working with co-teacher and lead teacher to monitor and report on children's development and helping to identify those children that might have learning difficulties. * Seeking counsel from outside professionals in dealing with special problems. * Fostering meaningful relationships with students, staff and parents through continual communication. * I taught in summer enrichment programs at Myers Park United Methodist Church for several years. * I have held numerous nanny jobs over the years. * I attend Early Childhood Education conferences annually, and participate in continuing education workshops.
