About Susan

It is because I enjoy the company of seniors and care deeply for their welfare, that I volunteered for about 3 years for State of FL Ombudsman program, legally representing resident's complaints, assisting them with advocacy, regular visitations and annual inspections of senior facilities. I think it is due to of my upbringing that I acquired a natural respect for elders. My grandmother had Alzheimer and lived the last years of her life in a Skilled Nursing Facility until she died at the age of 100. Both my parents and sister died while under Hospice comfort care. This is what inspired me to make a mid-life career change. I've seen senior care from both sides and understand the importance of their personal needs, their rights and their dignity. I became a licensed CNA [now expired], HHA and PCT, with one year of hospital experience in Medical/Surgical unit. I also attended 2 terms of nursing school before I switched to patient care in hospital laboratories as a licensed phlebotomist.
