About Susana

Was a volunteer in a nursing home before becoming a caregiver. My job was to interact with the residents. A nurse noticed that I visited week after week, and encouraged me to take nursing assistant (CNA) classes. I completed nursing assistant training and medical assistant training. In addition to working in private homes, I have worked in nursing homes, adult care homes, and physician's offices since the 1990's. I would say 50% of my caregiver experience is with hospice patients in their homes, which I consider my specialty. I have experience monitoring medications for people with mental health issues, and those with Alzheimer's, dementia, Parkinson's disease, stroke survivors, cancer, diabetes, paraplegics, quadriplegia, COPD, ALS, chronic heart failure, MS, and depression. I am not one to just microwave a meal. I enjoy cooking from scratch and can accommodate low-sodium and/or diabetic diets. I am empathetic and compassionate, have an outgoing personality.
