Hello! I am looking for a full or part-time position in which I might support your family with both childcare/teaching and cooking, or just one or the other. I have a Masters in Education with 30 years experience teaching 4-10-year-old children in schools and summer programs; I spent many years as well caring for toddlers in daycare programs and at home. Warm and playful, reliable and resourceful, I delight in the spirit and company of children. I particularly love reading, making art and being with children in nature, and playing games and developing activities which engage their imaginations and nourish their creativity. I am also a passionate and skilled vegetarian cook; my menus include soups, stews, grains, legumes, cooked vegetables and fresh salads, many with Mediterranean, Middle Eastern, Indian and North African origins and flavors. Finally, I love animals and have three of my own. I look forward to speaking with you!

We worked with Susan for a year when she took care of our three children two days a week for before and after school care. Susi was wonderful with our kids - my kids have very different personalities and she was able to adapt and tune her interaction with each child accordingly. My youngest in particular is very high energy, and she found ways to focus him as well as played with him on his level. For before school, she always got my three kids ready and out the door for the bus on time (no small feat) and then after-school was very hands-on with our kids, bringing a "Mary Poppins bag" full of games and puzzles to entertain all our kids, and even made homemade ice cream with them! She was very engaged with our kids and seemed to truly take pleasure in interacting with children in general. Thank you Susi!!
