About Summer

I'm 25 years old and have been working with kids for several years. Since I can remember, I have been providing child care in one setting or another. Prior to working for the school system, I worked in Nashville, TN in an elementary school library and also doing childcare for special events at my church. From 2006 until 2009, I worked with Johnston County Schools as a teacher assistant. I was placed in an exceptional children's classroom and, although I was hesitant, I loved my job. I enjoyed the impact I had and the relationships I formed with the children. After resigning from the Johnston County School System, I worked with Head Start as a teacher assistant and bus driver. I work with 4- and 5-year-old children and although they could be a handful at times, I loved my job. I enjoyed teaching the children the small stuff that they would be able to carry with them to elementary school and beyond.
