Character reference for Stewart K.: I didn't realize that Stewart would be caring for my family, but that was exactly what happened. Stewart is my husband's best childhood friend. He came to visit us a few years ago and stayed with us while in town, on business. I was, admitted, a little scared to have a man that I didn't know, stay with us. I created a welcome letter with rules and expectations. It was basic information about respecting others in the household and mostly about boundaries with my daughters. I have a 16 year old and my eldest daughter (29 years old) was staying home after the pandemic due to financial hardship and to help care for her siblings. I have an adult son with a disability. I didn't have a thing to worry about. Stewart became a blessing in our lives. In so many ways, he was a joy to have around. He was helpful, gracious, and always smiling. He is tidy and doesn't leave messes. He showed the greatest respect for our boundaries. Even when there was a very stressful event occurring upstairs with my son, and he wished to help, he remained downstairs and kept the boundaries I had insisted upon and simply called up to offer help. He has consistently shown that sort of integrity throughout the 2.5 years I have known him. He gave rides and accompanied my husband to doctors appointments when he hurt his back. He has chipped in, cleaning the house for company to come over. He helped clean up the yard when all the leaves came down in the fall. He is a wonderful companion to my son when he is stressed. When my Aunt had hip surgery and she fell, I called him and my husband to come help lift her. He came without complaint, understanding the urgency. He made such an impression that my parents and aunt constantly ask about him and want him to attend family events. My mom says, "Oh, I love Stewart! He's so pleasant and helpful!" I am certain that if I ask Stewart to help, he will do his best to help if he can. I have no qualms about him being in my house with my daughters alone when my husband and I are at work or with me alone in the house. I would even let him take my youngest to her events without a worry. He has been appropriate in every situation. He is their adopted Uncle and my adopted brother in law! I can't say I have ever had another person like him in my life. There are very few people I trust, as I do Stewart. He will be an asset to anyone who hires him. Sincerely, Mary
