I have worked with children with special needs since I was four. I walked into my aunt's special education classroom and taught the children the days of the week and the months of the year. Then I went on to complete childhood special education coursework in college. I worked as a teachers aide for children with disabilities ranging from Down syndrome to Autism Spectrum Disorders. I have a good friend who has epilepsy and I have helped him through many seizures. I raised my brother who at the time was diagnosed with Asperger's. I received my Masters in Special Education in 2020. I now teach toddlers at a Head Start program for young moms. I enjoy it and I enjoy working with all diverse groups of children. They all bring different strengths and prosperity to the classroom and it brings a smile to my face daily. I hope to continue to help children grow and develop outside of the classroom environment on a one-to-one basis and build long term relationships with the family I work with.
